Brandon Jones Headed to Richmond

MS Braves left fielder Brandon Jones, the Southern League’s RBI leader, has been promoted to Triple-A Richmond. The move was announced tonight after the Braves 2-1 loss to Jacksonville at Trustmark Park. Jones, did not appear in the game, was hitting .293 with 15 home runs and 74 RBIs. He ended his stint here with a season high 16 game hit streak in which he hit (24-64, .375) with 21 RBIs. Phillip Wellman said he expects an outfielder will be promoted from Class A Myrtle Beach on Friday, but he did not know who it would be.
