Braves Bullpen Blows Game Two: L, 9-8

The Chattanooga Lookouts posted a four-run 7th inning to steal Game Two from the Braves in front of 2,658 fans at AT&T Field. With the loss the Braves (32-20) had their lead reduced in the South Division to 3 games over the Suns and 4 over the Biscuits. The Lookouts (23-29) ran their current winning streak to 3 in a row after suffering a season-high five game losing streak.

James Parr (0-0, 9.00 ERA), tossed 5 innings in his AA debut while going 2-for-3 at the plate with 2 RBIs. The Braves spotted Parr a 6-0 lead after three innings. In the bottom of the 3rd he began to struggle as he gave up an RBI single and three-run homerun with two outs on the board. He wound up giving up five runs in his five innings of work but struck out six and avoided walking a batter. He left the game with an 8-5 lead.

Joe Winkelsas entered the game in the sixth and retired the side in order. In the top of the seventh he picked up a lead-off walk and stayed on the bases the whole inning as the Braves were unable to score. In the bottom of the seventh the fatigue seemed to have set in as he gave up a leadoff triple to Drew Anderson. Luis Bolivar brought him in on a ground out to Lillibridge. Then the inning fell apart for "Wink" as he gave up a walk, two doubles and a single as the Lookouts completed the comeback.

Carl Loadenthal was the Braves Player of the Game as he finished 3-for-5 at the plate with 3 singles and two runs scored. He reached base safely in 5 of his 6 plate appearances.

Camilo Vazquez, (3-5, 4.69 ERA) failed to make it past the 4th inning as he gave up 7 of the 8 runs on nine hits and two walks. Carlos Guevara pitche the ninth as he picked up his 5th save of the season and his second in as many nights.

The Braves will continue their 5-game series in Chattanooga, Tennessee at AT&T Field as they take on the Chattanooga Lookouts, the AA Affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, in the third game of their Southern League Series. The Braves On Deck Circle presented by Wendy's will air starting at 5:15pm (CT). The First Pitch will follow at 6:15pm (CT).
