Salty Promoted to Atlanta

On his 22nd birthday, Jarrod Saltalamacchia got the call of his dreams, he was promoted to Atlanta to start in his first Major League ballgame. He was called to replace the injured backstops Brian McCann and Brayan Pena. Salty will bat 7th in the lineup. Pena was placed on the 15 DL. Ray Serrano will start tonight behind the plate for Saltalamacchia as the Braves battle the Biscuits.

Saltalamacchia becomes the 8th Mississippi Brave promoted directly to Atlanta and the 17th Mississippi Brave promoted to the big leagues overall. He also becomes the player with the longest last name in Major League History.
