Braves Win Pitcher's Duel: W, 1-0

Mark Jurich broke a scoreless tie in the 7th inning with an RBI single bringing in Matt Equivel to score the only run of the game in front of 2,672 fans at Pringles Park. The Braves (3-0) ran their current winning streak to 5 straight games while the D-Jaxx (0-3) dropped their third straight decision.

Braves starter James Parr tossed 6 scoreless innings while scattering 5 hits with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts to notch his first ever Double-A win. D-Jaxx starter Robert Rohrbaugh (7-5, 3.28 ERA) was a the hard-luck loser as he held the Braves scoreless through 6 2/3 innings before Jurich's RBI single. He retired 11 in a row before Esquivel blooped a single to right field to start the 7th inning rally.

The Braves escaped two big jams in the last two innings as Morton gave up a lead-off single in the 8th inning to Sebastian Boucher. He was sacrificed to second base by Brent Johnson. But then Prentice Redman bounced a ball to third and Van Pope ran down Boucher who was caught to far off the bag at second. Pope then turned and caught Redman between first and second to end the inning with a double play.

The other jam came in the 9th against Jose Ascanio as he allowed a lead-off walk to Marshall Hubbard. Tuiasosopo then laid down a sac bunt attempt that turned into a single as Van Pope watched it come to a stop on the foul line. Charlton Jimerson came up next and tried to sacrifice the two base runners over but the Braves got the lead runner at third on Jimerson's attempt as Creek got the ball to third in time. Luis Valbuena was then induced into a inning-ending double play to end the game.

James Parr (1-0, 3.00 ERA)was the Braves Players of the Game as he tossed 6 scoreless frames in his 5th start for the MS Braves. Parr retired the last 5 batters he faced and worked his way around a hit in each of the first five innings to secure his first AA win.
