Braves Drop 3rd In A Row

The Braves have lost three in a row for the first time this season as they ran into a buzzsaw in Jim Magrane (3-1, 1.88 ERA). Magrane retired the final 11 batters he faced in front of 2,792 at Trustmark Park.

The Braves got a nice outing from lefty Francisely Bueno (0-1, 3.27 ERA) as he struck out 10 Biscuit batters including four straight to start the game. Bueno made one mistake to Ryan Christianson and he deposited the mistake into the Braves bullpen in left field.

The Biscuits padded their lead with a RBI single in the third from Jason Pridie, but Bueno settled in after that and lasted through the 6th. THe Bravs bullpen got the job done of keeping the Biscuits off the board as Schmitt delivered 2 innings of scoreless relief and Will Startup threw a perfect ninth striking out two.

The Braves avoided the shutout thanks to Eddie Perez and his third base hit in the game, a RBI single scoring Grego Blanco. The Braves outhit the Biscuits but still lost 3-1.

The Braves and Biscuits play game four of the series Monday night at 7:05pm. RHP Ryan Basner (0-2, 9.31 ERA) takes the hill for Mississippi while Montgomery counters with LHP Chuck Tiffany (0-1, 3.65 ERA). There will be no Braves On-Deck Circle powered by Nextel due to the Rebel Yell Hotline.

Don't forget to bring your radio to the ballpark and tune into either AM-930 or our Trustmark Park frequency of 104.3-FM.
