Perez Homers but Braves Lose Both

Eddie Perez homered in his second game as a MS Brave but the solo shot only brought the Braves to within 2 in the second game of the night and the Braves would get no closer as they lost 6-4 to the Montgomery Biscuits in front of 4,480 at Trustmark Park.

The Braves showed some signs of life in the completion of the first game as the Biscuits tossed two errors in the bottom of the ninth allowing the Braves to tie the game at 4-4. The Biscuits, however, used agressive baserunning in the 10th as Elliot Johnson scored all the way from first on a two-out single by Jason Pridie. Then, Salas, who blew the save in the ninth collected win in the tenth by retiring three of the four batters he faced.

The two teams will turn around and play game three of the series Sunday afternoon at 1:05pm. LHP Francisely Bueno (0-0, 1.80 ERA) takes the hill for Mississippi while Montgomery counters with RHP Jim Magrane (2-1, 2.81 ERA).
