Braves Win...Heading to Chattanooga

The Braves finally figured out a way to score in the second inning, scoring 4 in the 2nd frame to post an 8-0 victory over the Birmingham Barons in front of a season-high crowd of 5,163 at Trustmark Park. The Braves also got the best start of the year from Matt Wright (3-2, 2.65 ERA) as he threw 6 shutout innings while allowing just one hit and striking out seven.

The Braves staff combined to toss 12 strikeouts and push their season total up to 392 on the year, which ranks them fourth in the Southern League.

The Braves are in Chattanooga to play game one of a five-game set against the Lookouts tonight at 5:15 CT. The Braves send RHP Daniel Curtis (2-4, 4.70) to the hill while Chattanooga counters with RHP Josh Hall (0-0, 5.00 ERA). The Braves On Deck Circle powered by Nextel starts off the broadcast at 6:05pm on SuperSport 930. Don't forget to bring your radios Tuesday and tune into AM-930 or 103.5 FM exclusively at Bellsouth Park.
