Prado Gets First Big League Hit

Infielder Martin Prado made his first Major League appearance and start in Sunday night's game with Washington.

Prado made the jump from Double-A on Friday, where he had a .302 batting average. The 22-year-old was working on staying relaxed before the game.

"It's the same game," Prado said with a smile. "I'm just going to try to have fun."

Prado delivered in the 8th with a leadoff triple (his first major league hit) that keyed an eventual 3-run inning thanks to Wilson Betemit's 3-run Homerun off of Gary Majewski.

Other former MS Braves Performances: Brian McCann - 1-4 at the plate (.288 season avg), Jeff Francoeur - 0-3 at the plate, HBP (.194 season avg), John Thomson - 6.0 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 5 BB, 5 K (1.31 ERA for the season)
