Braves Let Another One Slip Away

A night after the Braves bullpen shut down the red-hot Biscuits it collapsed Saturday night in Montgomery. Elliot Johnson launched a three-run homerun off of reliever Eric Schmitt with two outs in the bottom of the eighth to lift the Biscuits to a come-from-behind 7-5 win over the Mississippi Braves in front of 7,018 at Riverwalk Stadium..

Braves Starter Matt Wright (6.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 10 K, 2 HB) left with a 5-2 advantage on the scoreboard and was in line for his second win, before the bullpen fell apart in the last two innings. Both starters were forced to stay in the game through six innings because of depleted bullpens from the previous game.

The Braves start up a five-game homestand with West Tennessee Sunday night at 7:05pm. RHP Daniel Curtis (1-2, 5.40 ERA) takes the mound for Mississippi while the Diamond Jaxx counter with LHP JR Mathes (2-2, 4.65 ERA). The Braves On Deck Circle powered by Nextel starts off the broadcast at 6:05pm on SuperSport 930 (WSFZ-AM-930).
