Braves Lose Third Straight to Biscuits

Ryan Christianson continued his homerun antics Thursday night crushing another pair of two-run homeruns to lift the Biscuits to a 7-4 win over the Braves in front of 4,172 at Riverwalk Stadium. Christianson (6-18, .333 - 6HR, 12 RBIs) has six hits against the Braves in the five games he has appeared in and all six are two-run homers.

Chris Waters (2-1, 3.18 ERA) (5.1 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, 1 BK, 2 HR) recorded his first loss of the season. The Braves bullpen once again faltered as Glenn Tucker gave up the second two-run homer to Ryan Christianson which gave the Biscuits a 5-3 lead in which they would not relinquish.

Biscuits Starter Jim Magrane (4-2, 3.22 ERA) (6.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 4 K) allowed four walks but only one scored as he scattered 6 hits in 6 innings.

The Braves hit into three double plays in the game two of which ended huge scoring threats in the first and sixth innings.

The Braves and Biscuits continue their five-game series Friday night at 7:05pm. RHP Ryan Basner (0-2, 5.30 ERA) takes the mound for Mississippi while Montgomery counters with LHP Mike Prochaska (0-0, 3.60 ERA) gets a spot start in place of scheduled starter Chuck Tiffany. The Braves On Deck Circle powered by Nextel starts off the broadcast at 6:05pm on SuperSport 930 (WSFZ-AM-930).
