Braves Run Win Streak to Four: W, 3-1

The Braves continued their domination of the Lookouts with a 3-1 win Thursday night, their fourth straight over Chattanooga, in front of 2,369 at Bellsouth Park. Matt Wright struggled in the first allowing a leadoff single and two walks. He got out of that jam and proceeded to retire 17 of the final 19 batters he faced, only allowing a walk to Machado in the second and a double to Moran in the sixth. Ryan Basner and Dan Smith combined to get the Braves through the seventh and eighth while Arthur Santos picked up his second save in as many chances for Mississippi by closing out the ninth.

Barbaro Canizares drove in all three runs for the Braves with an RBI single in the first and a two-run double in the eighth. He has now driven in 6 RBIs in his last three games.

Lookouts starter Travis Chick (2-2, 4.44 ERA) was the hard luck loser going six innings while allowing only one run and striking out five. He retired 10 of the last 11 batters he faced.

The Braves travel to Zebulon, North Carolina to start up a five-game set against the Carolina Mudcats Friday night at 6:15 CT. The Braves will send RHP Daniel Curtis (2-5, 4.91 ERA) to the hill while Carolina counters with RHP James Russ (2-5, 4.07 ERA).
