Braves Unable to Cash In Mistakes: L, 6-2

Despite a record-tying 5 errors by the BayBears the Braves were unable to overcome a three-run 4th inning as the BayBears cruised to a 6-2 win in front of an announced crowd of 3,278 at Trustmark Park.

The Braves got on the board early in the first inning as new Brave Matt Young chopped a ball back to the mound and his speed forced Jack Cassel to make a hurried throw wide of first. Young's speed allowed him to take third and he scored one batter later on a Yunel Escobar ground out. Escobar reached base on the second error of the inning but was caught stealing during the next at-bat as Terrazas and Rosamond struck out to end the threat.

The BayBears got their offense going against spot starter Eric Schmitt in the 4th inning as Sinisi launched his 7th Homerun of the season a one-out shot into the Cellular South Cafe'. Schmitt then allowed a single and double before giving up a two-out two-run single to Drew Macias to cap the scoring in the inning. The BayBears added three more runs on two sacrifice flys and an RBI single in the 7th and 9th innings.

The Braves will continue a five game set in Pearl, Mississippi at Trustmark Park as they take on the Mobile BayBears, the AA Affiliate of the San Diego Padres, in game three of the series. First Pitch is set for 7:05 PM (CT). The Braves are scheduled to send LHP Chris Waters (7-12, 5.25 ERA) to the hill, while the BayBears are scheduled to counter with LHP Sean Thompson (5-9, 3.64 ERA). The Braves On Deck Circle powered by Nextel will start things off at 6:05pm (CT). Don't forget if you're headed to the game then take your radio and tune to 104.3-FM exclusively at Trustmark Park.
