Stars Spoil Chipper's Debut: L, 4-3

The Braves fell one run shy in their comeback attempt as the Huntsville Stars won the series with a 4-3 win in front of a new record crowd of 7,577 at Trustmark Park. The previous record was 7,062 which was set on Opening night last season.

The Braves top half (1-5 batters) of the order was horrendous finishing 1-20. Saltalamacchia's leadoff double in the 9th was the only hit for the 1-5 batters all night. Kyle Davies (0-1, 6.43 ERA) struggled to get out of the first two innings giving up two runs on three hits and a pair of walks. His high pitch count (54 pitches) left him unable to get to the 3rd inning.

Yovanni Gallardo (3-2, 1.44 ERA) was sensational for the Stars as he limited the Braves to just 1 earned run on 4 hits and retired 10 in a row at one point before leaving in the 7th inning.

CHIPPER REHABBING: Chipper Jones is scheduled to make one more rehab start with the MS Braves Saturday night (8.12) at Trustmark Park. He finished 0-4 in his first rehab start with some pretty good defensive plays at 3rd base. Tickets can be purchased by going online to http://www.mississippibraves.com/ or by stopping by Trustmark Park.

The Braves continue a five game set in Pearl, Mississippi at Trustmark Park as they take on the Huntsville Stars, the AA Affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, in game four of the series. First Pitch is set for 7:05 PM (CT). The Braves are scheduled to send LHP Matt Harrison (3-2, 3.42 ERA) to the hill, while the Stars are scheduled to counter with RHP Tim Dillard (8-7, 3.38 ERA). The Braves On Deck Circle powered by Nextel will start things off at 6:05pm (CT). Don't forget if you're headed to the game then take your radio and tune to 104.3-FM exclusively at Trustmark Park.
