Braves End Skid in Motgomery: W, 4-3

The Braves ended a seven game losing streak at Riverwalk Stadium as Michael Rosamond deliverd a bases-clearing triple in the 6th and scored later on a passed ball to plate the eventual winning run in front of an announced crowd of 6,898 at Riverwalk Stadium. The Braves also put an end to Andy Sonnanstine's 9 game win streak.

Chris Waters (7-10, 4.41 ERA) tossed five very effective innings before running into trouble in the sixth. He gave up two walks to start the inning (his first two of the game) and then a towering 3-run homerun to Justin Ruggiano. He then wriggled off the hook and turned it over to the bullpen in the seventh. Arthur Santos pitched two scoreless innings of relief for his 7th hold of the season, while Zach Schreiber allowed two singles but struck out Jeremy Owens on a called third strike with the tying run 90 feet away for his 16th save of the season. Schreiber is the all-time leader in saves in MS Braves history.

The Braves struggled tonight leaving 6 men stranded and finishing 1 for 10 with runners in scoring position. In the South Division Standings, the Braves are now a a half game back of 4th place Birmingham and 7 games behind 1st place Jacksonville.
