Slide in Montgomery Continues: L, 6-3

The Braves once again were unable to hold a lead at Riverwalk Stadium falling 6-3 to the Montgomery Biscuits in front of an announced crowd of 4,985 at Riverwalk Stadium. That marks the seventh straight loss in Montgomery this season for the Braves. It also marks the 10th time in 11 games that the Braves have had a lead on the Biscuits but have been unable to hold onto the lead.

Joshua Arteaga gave the Braves the lead in the 2nd inning with a 3run Homerun over the left field wall and onto the train tracks. Michael Coleman answered with a towering two-run shot in the 5th inning. The Biscuits welcomed three new players to the lineup tonight and all three contributed: Evan Longoria picked up his first hit in his last at-bat with a two-run single to provide the 3-run cushion; Reid Brignac singled to right field but was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double; Patrick Breen also singled and was hit by a pitch. Saltalamacchia (8 games) and Jones (9 games) both continued their hitting streaks while Hernandez had his end at 6 games.

The Braves are still a game and a half back of 4th place Birmingham and 7 1/2 games behind 1st place Jacksonville.
