Long Ball Does in Waters & Braves: L, 7-4

JC Muniz launched a three-run homerun in the top of the 5th off of Chris Waters to stake the Mudcats to a 3-0 advantage. They added two more on a double by Lee Mitchell in the same frame as they coasted to a 7-4 win in front of 2,525 at Trustmark Park in game two of the series.

Chris Waters (6-10, 4.40 ERA) faced just one over the minimum through four innings before the collapse in the 5th as his string of allowing at least one homerun and 2 walks reached four straight games. Paul Mildren (10-7, 3.79 ERA)

The Braves managed a rally in the 6th but came up one run short as Barbaro Canizares was thrown out at the plate by the Centerfielder Brett Carroll on an inning-ending double play. The Braves got just one hit the rest of the way...a double by Luis Hernandez in te 9th.
