Lerew Baffles BayBears in Game 3: W, 6-3

Mike Rozema delivered a two-run single with the bases loaded in the sixth to give the Braves a 6-1 lead they would not relinquish as the Braves defeated the BayBears 6-3 in front of an announced crowd of 2,117 at Hank Aaron Stadium.

Anthony Lerew (3-2, 1.63 ERA) continued his mastery of the BayBears as he moved to 3-0 lifetime against Mobile in his two stints in the Southern League. Lerew was lifted in the sixth due to a high pitch count. Jose Ascanio pitched 1 1/3 innings of relief allowing two runs. Arthur Santos pitcheda perfect eighth while Zach Schreiber came back from his first blown save for his 14th save of the season.

Sean Thompson (4-8, 3.52 ERA) took the loss as he allowed four runs on seven hits through just five innings of work. Paul Abraham tossed two innings of relief giving up the two-run single by Mike Rozema while walking two and striking out one. Geoff Jones pitched the final two innings for Mobile allowing just two walks while striking out a pair.

The Braves continue a five game set in Mobile, Alabama at Hank Aaron Stadium as they take on the Mobile BayBears, the AA Affiliate of the San Diego Padres, in game four of the series. First Pitch is set for 7:05 PM (CT). The Braves are scheduled to send LHP Matt Harrison (1-2, 4.02 ERA) to the hill while the BayBears are scheduled to counter with RHP Jose Oyervidez (3-9, 3.89 ERA).
