Salty Rescues Braves in 13th: W, 3-2

Jarrod Saltalamacchia launched his third homerun since coming off the disabled list with two outs in the top of the 13th inning, giving the Braves a 3-2 win in the series opener in front of an announced crowd of 1,571 at Hank Aaron Stadium.

The Braves nearly wasted the arm and bat of Francisely Bueno Monday night. Bueno (2-4, 3.69 ERA) was brilliant before exiting allowing just a leadoff homerun in the 2nd inning to Luis Cruz. Bueno knocked in the go-ahead run in the Braves two-run fifth with an infield RBI single. Sean White came off the DL to toss an inning of scoreless relief in the 8th while Zach Schreiber was charged with his first blown save of the season as he gave up the game-tying two-out homerun to Stephen Smitherman in the 9th. Ascanio and Basner (3-4, 4.57 ERA) pitched four scoreless innings of relief as the Braves held the BayBears to 0 for 10 with runners in scoring position.

The Braves continue a five game set in Mobile, Alabama at Hank Aaron Stadium as they take on the Mobile BayBears, the AA Affiliate of the San Diego Padres, in game two of the series. First Pitch is set for 7:05 PM (CT). The Braves are scheduled to send LHP Chris Waters (6-8, 4.05 ERA) to the hill while the BayBears are scheduled to counter with RHP Jack Cassel (1-0, 2.22 ERA). The Braves On Deck Circle powered by Nextel starts off the broadcast at 6:05 PM (CT) on SuperSport 930.
