Biscuits Walk Off in Extras: W, 9-8

Two weeks ago Justin Ruggiano, Evan Longoria and Patrick Breen were all in different uniforms. Sunday night they all contributed with homeruns for the Biscuits including Ruggiano's walk-off blast in the 10th giving the Biscuits a 9-8 win in front of an announced crowd of 3,568 at Riverwalk Stadium.

That performance overshadowed what the Braves were able to accomplish at the plate, as they rallied from a pair of three-run deficits to take an 8-6 lead in the eighth on Josh Burrus' first homerun of the season, a grand slam down the left field line (which was the 3rd Slam for the Braves this season).

Kyle Davies (0-0, 7.20 ERA) was less than spectacular giving up a 2-run Homerun to Longoria in the 2nd and a pair of RBI hits in the 3rd. He left trailing 4-1. Lerew (4-2, 2.03 ERA) had his worst outing in over a month as he gave up a two-run homerun to Breen and a pair of RBI hits in the eighth, which allowed Montgomery back in the ballgame.

The Braves managed to get the go-ahead run to 3rd base in the 9th before Rosamond struck out to end the threat. The Madison native did chip in his team-leading 12th homerun in the 4th and is now tied with Yunel Escobar with 39 RBIs. Joshua Arteaga also launched a long ball, a solo shot in the 7th. Arteaga has just 3 hits in his last 14 at-bats and they are all Homeruns.

In the South Division Standings, the Braves are now a game and a half back of 4th place Birmingham and 8 games behind 1st place Jacksonville.

The Braves continue a five game set in Montgomery, Alabama at Riverwalk Stadium as they take on the Montgomery Biscuits, the AA Affiliate of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, in game four of the series. First Pitch is set for 7:05 PM (CT). The Braves are scheduled to send LHP Matt Harrison (2-2, 3.92 ERA) to the hill, while the Biscuits are scheduled to counter with LHP Mike Prochaska (2-3, 5.60 ERA). The Braves On Deck Circle powered by Nextel will not air due to the Rebel Yell Hotline on SuperSport 930. Don't forget if you're headed to the game then take your radio and tune to 103.9-FM exclusively at Riverwalk Stadium.
