Braves Earn Split with D-Jaxx: 1-5 / 2-1 (11)
The Braves nearly let one slip away in the second game of a Doubleheader against the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx in front of a crowd of 1,028 at Pringles Park. The Braves rallied in the 11th for a 2-1 win in the nightcap after falling 5-1 in the opener.
The Braves left numerous chances in both games going a combined 5-24 with runners in scoring position and stranding 20 baserunners. The Braves bullpen was the shining spot in the second game holding the D-Jaxx to just two hits and one walk and not allowing a baserunner past first base after the fifth inning.
Prior to the start of the second half some changes were made as Gregor Blanco and Paul Bush were promoted to Richmond while Anthony Lerew was optioned from Richmond and Brandon Jones was promoted from Myrtle Beach.
The Braves will endure a quick turnaround as they have a day game Wednesday at Pringles Park in Jackson, Tennessee as they take on the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx in the third game of a five-game set at 11:05 AM. The Braves will send LHP Anthony Lerew (0-0, 0.00 ERA) while the D-Jaxx counter with RHP Juan Mateo (4-3, 2.03 ERA).
