Serrano Helps Braves End Slide: W, 3-1

Ray Serrano belted his first homerun of the season in the second inning helping the Braves end a 10-game road losing streak and an overall 3-game losing skid in front of 5,790 at Joe Davis Stadium. Serrano finished 2-for-4 on the night ending a slump in which he was 1 for his last 29 at the plate.

Serrano's performance at the plate almost overshadowed the start by Anthony Lerew. Lerew (2-2, 2.00 ERA) allowed just one unearned run in the fourth while striking out a season high 5 and only giving three hits.

The Braves pen came into the night having allowed just 3 earned runs in the month of July. They made it stay that way: Santos pitched a perfect eighth while Zach Schreiber made it interesting in the ninth issuing two one-out walks before striking out the final two batters notching his 11th save on the season.

The Braves continue a five game set in Hunstville Alabama at Joe Davis Stadium as they take on the Huntsville Stars, the AA Affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, in game four of the series. First Pitch is set for 7:05 PM (CT). The Braves are scheduled to send LHP Matt Harrison (0-2, 5.40 ERA) to the hill in search of his first AA win while the Stars are scheduled to counter with RHP Tim Dillard (6-5, 3.29 ERA). The Braves On Deck Circle powered by Nextel starts off the broadcast at 6:05 PM (CT) on SuperSport 930. Don't forget if you're headed to the game then take your radio and tune to 103.9-FM exclusively at Joe Davis Stadium.
