Braves Set Another Record: L, 3-1

The Braves set a new franchise record by losing their 10th straight road game on the season falling to the Huntsville Stars 3-1 in front of 1,630 fans at Joe Davis Stadium. Jorge De La Rosa (2-1, 1.89 ERA) was making his fourth rehab start for the Stars and he limited the Braves to just one unearned run in the fourth. He pitched 6 1/3 innings while striking out five and walking just one. The Stars have not allowed a single earned run in the first two games of the series.

The Braves lone offensive outburst was by Brandon Jones as he finished 3-for-3 with a double and two singles along with the Braves lone RBI which came in the fourth. Chris Waters (5-8, 4.15 ERA) retired the first seven batters he faced but then made one mistake pitch to Steve Moss in the third as he deposited the 2-1 pitch over the left field wall.

The Braves best offensive chance came in the seventh as they collected two singles by the first two batters...unfortunately Escobar was caught stealing and Jones was picked off at first. The Braves were unable to get a baserunner past second base after the fourth. The Braves hit into two more double plays on the night, which gives them as many double plays as games played on the season (91).

The Braves continue a five game set in Hunstville Alabama at Joe Davis Stadium as they take on the Huntsville Stars, the AA Affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, in game three of the series. First Pitch is set for 7:05 PM (CT). The Braves are scheduled to send RHP Anthony Lerew (1-2, 2.70 ERA) to the hill in search of his second win while the Stars are scheduled to counter with RHP Yovanni Gollardo (0-1, 0.00 ERA) as he also looks for win number one. The Braves On Deck Circle powered by Nextel starts off the broadcast at 6:05 PM (CT) on SuperSport 930. Don't forget if you're headed to the game then take your radio and tune to 103.9-FM exclusively at Joe Davis Stadium.
