Braves Routed in Series Opener: L, 11-0

Stars LHP Steve Hammond (2-1, 0.69 ERA) shut down the Braves bats on Wednesday night limiting them to two-hits in a complete-game 11-0 shutout in front of 1,237 fans at Joe Davis Stadium. Every Stars player including Hammond picked up at least one hit in the 15-hit attack. Hammond faced just four over the minimum giving up two hits, a walk and a hit batter. He no-hit the Braves through 5 1/3 innings until Burrus' single in the sixth.

The Braves were knocked out quickly as Francisely Bueno (1-3, 4.08 ERA) gave up 4 runs in the first and fourth innings and a single run in the fifth to cap off his night. The Braves advanced only one of their four base runners to second base.

The Braves continue a five game set in Hunstville Alabama at Joe Davis Stadium as they take on the Huntsville Stars, the AA Affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, in game two of the series. First Pitch is set for 7:05 PM (CT). The Braves are set to send LHP Matt Harrison (0-2, 5.40 ERA) to the hill in search of his first win while the Stars are scheduled to counter with LHP Jorge De La Rosa (1-1, 2.84 ERA) as he continues his reahb stint. The Braves On Deck Circle powered by Nextel starts off the broadcast at 6:05 PM (CT) on SuperSport 930.
