Braves Slide Extends to Four: L, 7-6

Bobby Darula picked the right time to collect his first RBIs as a MS Brave hitting a two-out two-run double in the top of the ninth to tie the ballgame at 6-6. Zach Schreiber, however, walked the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth and eventually lost on a game ending error by Mike Rozema with a drawn-in infield. The Braves tied their season high losing skid at four straight in front of 4,519 at Riverwalk Stadium. Their futility against Montgomery contniued as they fell to 3-15 lifetime at Rivewalk Stadium, 2-10 this season against the Biscuits and 10-25 overall.

Starter Matt Harrison (0-1, 7.15 ERA) did not factor in the decision even though he left the game trailing 6-4. Jose Ascanio pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief allowing just a single in the seventh.

SCORING SUMMARY: The Braves took another early lead in the first thanks to a walk and a hit batter by Montgomery starter Jeff Niemann who then yielded an RBI single to Yunel Escobar. The Biscuits tied it in the second with a solo homer by Michael Coleman. The Biscuits took their first lead in the third with an RBI single by Wes Bankston. They added to their lead in the fourth with an RBI Fielder's Choice by Francisco Leandro and an error by Mike Rozema trying to turn an inning-ending double play. The Braves rallied in the fifth with the first homerun by Brandon Jones, a two-run shot to start the inning. The Biscuits got one of those back in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI single by Michael Coleman. The Biscuits pushed another run across in the sixth on another Fielder's Choice RBI this time by Elliot Johnson. The Braves tied it in the ninth as Canizares drew a two-out walk followed by an error by Wes Bankston. That set up Darula's heroics tying the game 6-6. Then Schreiber walked the bases loaded and gave up the walk off run as Mike Rozema was charged with his second error of the game.
