MS Braves Roster Announced

The Atlanta Braves have released the rosters for this season and here are the MS Braves for the 2007 Season:

Pitchers - Jose Ascanio, Ryan Basner, Francisely Bueno, Paul Bush, Joey Devine, Matt Harrison, Buddy Hernandez (DL), Charlie Morton, Jo-Jo Reyes, Zach Schreiber, Dan Smith, Kelvin Villa, Joe Winkelsas.

Catchers - Fernando Luna, Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Ray Serrano (DL)

Infielders - Greg Creek, JC Holt, Mar, Jurich, Brent Lillibridge, Van Pope, Jonathan Schuerholz.

Outfielders - Josh Burrus, Matt Esquivel, Brandon Jones, Carl Loadenthal

Saltalamacchia (#1), Harrison (#3), Jones (#4), Pope (#5), Reyes (#8), and Devine (#9) are all ranked among the top 10 prospects in the Atlanta Braves organization by Baseball America. That same publication listed Lillibridge as the fourth best prospect in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization before he was acquired by the Braves in the Adam LaRoche trade.

Ascanio, Basner, Bueno, Bush, Devine, Harrison, Schreiber, Smith, Saltalamacchia, Serrano, Schuerholz, Burrus, Esquivel, Jones, and Loadenthal have all played in Mississippi at some point during the last two years. Lunar and Winkelsas started their careers in the Atlanta Braves organization.

Remember, Opening Day is Thursday as the MS Braves open the 2007 Season in Huntsville Alabama at Joe Davis Stadium by taking on the Huntsville Stars, the AA Affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, in Game 1 of a Five Game Set. The Braves on Deck Circle will begin things at 6:05pm with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05pm. The Braves and Stars have not yet released the projected starters.

That would be Kala Ka'aihue you would be talking about. He will start the year in Myrtle Beach but could be in Mississippi sometime this season. Thanks for the response.

Can't wait for the season to start tonight - went to spring training and caught a few games and it most definately started the baseball fever once again! We'll be listening in for our first win! Thanks for bringing the games back home to us when the guys are on the road!

Thanks for your comments. I am looking forward to the season starting tonight as well. Some inside info - One thing I already noticed was the camaraderie in the clubhouse. This team seems to really enjoy being together. Thanks for listening to the broadcasts and don't forget to listen at home as well since Ben Ingram will be joining me for the middle 3 innings. Please let me know if you ever have any suggestions.
